Ingredients

  • 1 package of chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 bag of marshmallows
  • 1 cup of white frosting
  • 1 cup of black gel icing
  • 1 cup of yellow or gold icing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare your workspace by covering a flat surface with parchment paper or a silicone mat. This will make cleanup much easier.
  2. Step 2: Take one of the chocolate sandwich cookies and place a dollop of white frosting on top. This will act as your 'glue' for the marshmallow.
  3. Step 3: Place a marshmallow on top of the frosting. This is the base of your pilgrim hat.
  4. Step 4: Using the black gel icing, draw a belt around the middle of the marshmallow. This is a crucial detail that gives your hat its pilgrim look.
  5. Step 5: If desired, use yellow or gold icing to draw a buckle on the belt. This adds an extra touch of realism and festivity to your edible craft.

Fun Pilgrim Hats turned out adorable for Thanksgiving. Made the cookies smell vanilla, the marshmallows felt pillowy, and the hats looked golden. Tested a longer chill, i added cinnamon to the cookie dough. Four stars because the hats are easy, kids devoured them, but marshmallows softened fast.
