In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix together the peanut butter, honey, and dark chocolate chips until smooth and creamy.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. If using chopped nuts, fold them into the dough at this stage.
Use your hands to shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should end up with around 12-15 energy balls.
Place the energy balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
