Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the sugar and melted butter until well combined. Beat in the pumpkin puree, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, frost with the cream cheese frosting (see below for recipe).
